Jeanne' Cadman developed a love of painting at age 13 during a summer spent with her artistic aunt in Ohio. Throughout her youth she painted constantly and continued to increase her creative ability. Then, as she finished high school, there were signs of failing eyesight and she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a hereditary eye disease which ultimately causes total, permanent blindness. Despite this burden, Jeanne' has continued throughout her life indulging her creative expressions. She spent many years as a floral arranger and continued to work on her paintings. Today, she has her own art shop located on Dearborn Street in Englewood Florida. It is full of her colorful paintings of tropical scenes and local wildlife. She displays the works of other artist who are also afflicted with blindness. Her goal is to expand the shop to include even more of these items. |
